Description
These garbage boxes offer a slightly different design compared to many of the other traditional garbage boxes on the market.
Our garbage boxes feature pressure-treated lumber only on the bottom where it connects with the ground, while the rest is built from spruce to help reduce costs. They are all screwed together with deck screws, ensuring no rust. The slats are 5/8″ thick, providing sturdy construction. With 1/4-inch spaces between the slats, they provide ample ventilation and reduce odor buildup when you open the box. Inside, You’ll find either a 1/2-inch or 1-inch square 19-gauge mesh on the bottom, ensuring easy cleaning and optimal moisture flow. Plus, if there’s any stubborn buildup, simply hose it down on the inside.
Each unit has a compost bin holder that accommodates a large compost bin, and the bottom features spaced slats of pressure-treated wood to allow for easy runoff or hosing off of any nasty spills.
The unit itself is not super heavy, but it’s heavy enough to handle normal wind storms and won’t blow apart like some of the plastic ones I’ve seen along the road.
They come unpainted to reduce costs a bit; however, they should be painted before you begin to use them. We offer to paint them for a fee. At this time, we only offer the color white or gray; however, that leaves it open for you to paint them any color you want, as white/gray works as a base for any color. If you do want them stained we could offer that option upon request.
Dimensions: 68″ long, 30″ wide (outside). Front lid height is 30″, and the back is 35 3/4″ high. Opening for compost bin is 24″, and inside measures about 40″ x 24″.
Here are pictures of a large compost bin. You’ll notice it has plenty of room, and the lid opens fine when the bin is parked in the side loader.
